Our Committee

Committee

Cherry Trees Playgroup is a not-for-profit organisation managed by a parent Committee.  The Committee is elected annually at the Annual General Meeting held in the Autumn term.  The Committee is responsible for ensuring that the Playgroup runs within the guidelines set out by Ofsted and to oversee the finances.

Legally, Cherry Trees cannot run without a Committee so we encourage parents to become involved as a Committee member.  This is not an onerous task – the Committee and staff meet around three or four times a year, in the evening, normally for around 1½ hours.  You can take up a particular position on the Committee – Chair, Treasurer or Secretary – or be a general Committee member.

Being on the Committee is an opportunity to have your say in how Cherry Trees runs and to make a real contribution to your child’s education and welfare.  All Committee members need to be DBS-checked which is paid for by Cherry Trees.

Parents are very welcome to attend Committee meetings even if they are not Committee members - although they will be unable to vote on any Committee matters.

If you are interested in joining the Committee please speak to one of the team and we will provide further information.
