WellComm
What is WellComm?
WellComm is an effective and well-recognised tool for assessing children's speech and language ability. It supports early identification of children who may need additional support with communication, so that thus support can be offered early and be most effective.
All our staff have received WellComm training to allow them to carry out assessments, and it is our practice to screen all children when they first come in to the setting.
Assessments
Information about your child's assessment will be shared with you, and if your child needs some extra help we will discuss how to proceed.
WellComm offers lots of tasks to work on with children to help support their speech and language.
If your child needs more specific intervention it may be necessary to refer them for Speech and Language Therapy, and again we will discuss this with you.
